Marinade is a savory sauce in which meat, fish, or a vegetable is soaked to enrich its flavor or to tenderize it.
In this marinade, one of the ingredients used is lemongrass/citronella grass; lemongrass is a tropical plant from South Asia and Southeast Asia, it has a subtle citrus flavor and aroma, and is widely used as a culinary and also as medicinal herb.
Quantity: 5 chicken drumsticks
- Prepare a marinade of :
2 tbsp. of white cooking vinegar,
¼ tsp. of turmeric powder,
1 tbsp. of finely sliced pieces of lemongrass greens,
Finely mashed pieces of 8 garlic cloves,
Smidgen the mixture with salt – according to preference of taste.
- Marinate the chicken drumsticks for at least ½ an hour in the marinade, before deep frying the chicken drumsticks for about 5 minutes in medium heat in adequate quantity of rice bran oil.
The blend of white cooking vinegar and garlic provides the chicken drumsticks wonderful flavour, and lemongrass greens offer a distinct freshness.
